Read description here:

-Students will be planning a 7 day 6 night trip somewhere in the world outside of New Brunswick.

-They will select a place outside New Brunswick and use travel websites and screen capture technology to build a complete and proven travel Itinerary in Powerpoint or Microsoft Word for a family of 4 (Two adults and two children in their teens.)

- They will track and label each and every expense using Microsoft Excel and subsequently use formulas to determine total cost of trip, total cost per person, and other aspects of the trip.

- they will make the last section of the itinerary a screen capture of the hotel review on www.tripadvisor.com and use that to describe why they chose that hotel.

- they will title and determine using formulas (see tutorial video) the following on their spreadsheets
1.Total cost
2.Total cost per person
3.Highest priced cost
4.Cheapest cost
4.Percentage of trip cost for flight
6.Percentage of trip cost for hotel

Optional -  they will print or PDF their entire itinerary and cost spreadsheet and submit it to their teacher.

Four rules:
1. No package deals-- travel, hotel, meals, events must all be booked separately
2. To keep things simple meals will be $100 dollars a day.
3. All prices / details / and dates for hotel, travel, and events must be screen captured and placed into the itinerary as proof for the day they occur or at beginning day for week long expenses.
4. USA and Canadian money will be considered equal in this assignment.

Evaluation suggestions for teachers:
- did students follow the 4 rules?
- does their itinerary include proof of each expense via screen capture?
- do their itinerary dates follow a realistic flow?
- is the spreadsheet built in an organized logical way?
- did students show an efficient use of formulas to determine costs? Did they find all 6 totals using formulas?
- did trip advisor support their hotel choice?
